The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is a South African government program meant to provide financial assistance to the needy. It is administered by the Ministry of Social Development, and its objective is to provide different types of grants to people who meet the requirements. If you qualify to get the monthly stipend, you should know your paydays. Read on to learn the dates SASSA pays the beneficiaries.

What Date Does SASSA Pay?

If your application for the SASSA grant is approved, you should expect to get paid during the first week of each month. For instance, the payday for Older Persons Grant is 3 April 2026, whereas the Disability Grant is paid on 3 April 2026. All other types of grants, including Care Dependency Grants, Foster Child Grant, Child Support Grants, and War Veterans Grants, will be paid on 4 April 2026. Payments for SRD grants are made when applications have been approved. SASSA announces grant payment dates for each month, and you can use different methods to check them.

How Do I Check My SASSA Payday?

You can check your SASSA payday on its official website or the Moya App installed on your mobile phone. To check your SASSA R370 payment date:

  1. Use the link https://srd.sassa.gov.za/sc19/status.
  2. Enter your ID number and phone number, which you used to apply for the SASSA grant.
  3. Click on the submit tab and select the month you wish to check its payday. You will see the paydays for various months if your application has been approved.

Once the money is credited into your account, you can withdraw it on the same day.

Another option you can consider to check your SASSA payday is the Moya App. It consists of free-to-use mobile software, which you must install on your smartphone first. You can use the app to manage your SASSA payments, and it is easy to use. You need to launch the Moya App on your mobile phone and find the SRD icon located under Discovery.

Go to the section where you will be asked to check the status of your application. Enter your ID number and phone number, which you used when applying for a grant. Click submit and select the month in which you want to check the payday. The payday shows the day when payment will be credited into your bank account or paid through other methods.

SRD grant does not have a specific payday since the payment is released once the application has been approved. You can send a WhatsApp message to 0820468553 to check if your SRD R370 grant has been approved. When you choose this method, just send a message saying “Hello”, and the SASSA official will respond.

Reply by requesting “Help” from the options provided and select SASSA-related service from the response. Type “Status”, and you will be asked if you want to check for yourself or someone. Press option “1” and enter your reference number to access your status update.

You can also check if your SASSA SRD grant has been approved by calling 0800601011 and selecting your preferred language. Tell the SASSA official who answers your call that you need to know your SRD R370 grant status. You will be asked to provide your ID number and phone number. Once you provide the details, a SASSA official will tell you your current status.

How Much Is SRD Grant Now?

When the SASSA SRD grant was introduced upon the outbreak of Covid-19, beneficiaries were paid a monthly stipend of R370, and they are still getting the same figure. However, there have been talks from different sectors suggesting that the grant should be increased to R413 to match the prevailing inflation rate. Several advocacy groups have called for a gradual increase of the grant in line with the prevailing inflation.

The current grant of R370 is inadequate since the money is used to cover many things like food, fees for kids, and other basic requirements. The grant was introduced in 2020, but its value has since been eroded by high inflation. The government has also conceded that R370 is not enough for the upkeep of the beneficiaries and promised to review it. Once a decision has been reached, the new payments will be announced to the beneficiaries.

How Do I Know if My R370 Grant Has Been Paid?

There are different methods you can consider to check if your SRD R370 grant has been paid. The first method is to use the USSD code *120*3210# and then follow the prompts that will lead you to your current balance. If this option is not working, you can also check your R370 balance by dialling *120*69277#. You will get a message stating your current balance. However, you should use your registered phone number when you choose to inquire about your balance using your mobile phone.

You can also check if your R370 grant has been paid using an automated teller machine (ATM). Go to your nearest ATM and insert your card, then enter your PIN. Select “Account Balance”, and you will receive a printed receipt with your current balance.

If you receive your SASSA grant through the bank, you can check your balance online using your mobile bank app. You can also log into your online banking platform to check your balance. The benefit of using this option is that it is convenient, and you can do it in the comfort of your home.

All SASSA grant beneficiaries are entitled to get monthly stipends which are paid during specific periods. Different methods can be used to check your SASSA payday to help you avoid standing in queues for extended periods even when you are not sure whether the money has been paid or not. However, the SRD R370 grant has no specific payday since it can be paid upon approval of your application.
