How To Submit Payment Request Form UIF
As is the case with all operations related to the UIF, submitting a payment request form is an activity you can do manually or online.
Manual form submissions are done through in-person visits to any local Labour Centre. Online form submissions are done online through the UIF’s portal, https://www.ufiling.co.za.
To be able to access the online portal, you must have had an active account registered on the platform with valid login details [password and username].
Payment requests are usually submitted within fifteen days from notification of approval of submitted claims.
How To Request UIF Payment Online
If you are interested in requesting for UIF payment through the online channel, there are certain important steps you must take.
First, you have to submit your UIF claim through the uFiling portal. For that purpose, it is necessary that you must have an account duly registered and activated on the portal. To register, you will need a valid ID number, email and personal banking details.
Registration and claims applications require no payment. It is only after the approval of a submitted UIF claim that you can proceed to request UIF payment.
UIF payment requests can be made through the uFiling platform by taking the following steps:
- Log into your account through https://ufiling.labour.gov.za/uif/
- Click on ‘Benefit Application and Payments’ tab. This tab is the sixth item on the left
- Click on ‘Continuation of Benefits’.
- Select your type of benefit and proceed by tapping ‘Next’
- Verify your banking details and input personal details in the next two windows
- Confirm your location and Labour Centre.
- Confirm your employment status by submitting work-seeker information and submit
Once you have successfully done these steps, your payment request will be submitted and processed accordingly.
How To Claim UIF For a Deceased Person Online
If you are thinking about claiming UIF for a deceased person, the UIF allows you to do so within six months after the death of the person for which the claim is sought. Again, you must be related to the deceased: to elaborate, you must be the child, wife or husband of the deceased.
Unlike other benefits, death claims can only be made manually at a Labour Centre. Depending on your relationship to the deceased, you will have to attach copies of the following documents to a UF127 form:
- Your identity document.
- Last six pay slips of the deceased.
- Form UI19 containing the employer’s details
- Death certificate
- Marriage certificate
- A service certificate issued by the employer
- Proof of banking details
- Proof of guardianship
You will be issued with a form UF128. This form will be filled by the deceased’s employer and returned to the Labour Centre.
