What documents do I need to apply for matric rewrite?

Having failed your first matric exams, you are only required to provide information that could be a point of reference to your matric. Once you have written the matric exams before, your details are already captured in the Department of Education.

How long does matric rewrite take?

 The period of the matrix exams can be a short one. But the important thing for the matric rewrite is to register on time and at the right centre. Doing these things prepares you better for the matric rewrite.

Once you apply and register for the matric rewrite, you have a couple of months to prepare for the main exams. This is to give enough room for students to study their various subjects. If we are talking about the period for the matric rewrite, then this can be considered a short period. However, if you register for the matric rewrite, you have months to take that matric exam. In a full educational curriculum, it can take about 12 to 36 months to complete your matric rewrite, which includes the period of registration, studying, and writing the main exams. 

Ideally, the length of the matric rewrite is about 12 months. This gives you enough time to study and write the final matric exams

How many subjects can you rewrite for matric?

Students who prepare for the first matrix exams are required to write 7 subjects. These 7 subjects comprise compulsory and electric subjects. If you are planning to rewrite the matric exams, it is important to know the number of subjects you can rewrite for the matric.

You are allowed to register as many subjects for the matric rewrite, provided it goes according to the Department of Education policy. This means to rewrite your matric, you have to register the subjects you wish to write but can not exceed the required 7 subjects. This means students who want to rewrite their failed matric subjects can take from 1 to 7 subjects.
