How Does Easypay Loans Work?

EasyPay Loans (EPSL) are accessible to individuals who already get SASSA grants. To get the loan, you need to visit any Net 1 CPS pay point where you can use your green card to collect your grant money. With EPSL, you can borrow some money against your social government grant. You can access the loan using your green card, which makes the process convenient and easier.

If you are already a SASSA grant beneficiary, you’re eligible to apply to get the Easy Pay SASSA Loans. You should first apply for the EasyPay Everywhere green card and wait for the approval of your application. Once the card is processed, you can access the loan which you want.

Short-term loan amounts vary from R410 up to R1,050, and the repayment period is six months. The loan attracts 31% of the original amount or R330 as a service fee and a 164% annual interest rate. The charges and interest rates for the loan are generally higher than what most lenders offer.

How Do I Apply for a SASSA Easy Pay Loan

To apply for EPSL, you must have an account with EasyPay Everywhere. This is a bank commonly known as Grinddrod Bank SASSA Loans which allows you to get your money without deductions. When you open the EasyPay Everywhere account, your money will be directed to it, and you will be able to borrow against your SASSA grant.

beneficiary, there are different methods you can use to apply for the loan. You must meet the following requirements:

You can use your phone to apply for an EasyPay SASSA loan by dialing *120*3737*7# or calling 0801 11 18 80. When you dial the USSD code, the next step is to enter your ID number and tap the call button. Follow the prompts and press 1 to access your bank statement and credit check.

You must enter the PIN you use at the ATM and enter your monthly expenses. Choose the type of loan or grant you want. You’ll get an instant response whether your loan has been approved or declined. You can also dial *120*3210# or *120*69277# to apply for a SASSA loan if the USSD code gives you problems.

Another option you can consider is to visit your nearest SASSA office and submit your loan application physically. You should complete your SASSA application form before a SASSA officer. When you apply, you will get a receipt which you must produce as evidence when your application is approved. If your loan application is declined, you will get correspondence in writing. However, you have 90 days from receiving the rejection notice to appeal the decision.

SASSA loans are also accessible via banks such as Capitec and Finbond or retail shops like Shoprite. For example, Shoprite offers affordable loans with lower interest rates. You can access the loan by visiting the nearest Shoprite branch or bank if you want to use this option.

When you apply for a SASSA loan, it’s not automatic that it will be approved. SASSA checks your previous debts and your debt-to-income ratio to determine if you meet their limit. Your current source of income also determines the amount of loan you can get.
