One thing that sets every human apart from the other is that uniqueness. For example, there are over 7 billion people on this planet, and yet nobody has the same fingerprints. Not even twins can have the same fingerprint.

This is the same issue that occurs when identification is set for someone. That identity is unique to that individual and becomes the sole point of recognition. In relation to matric, your ID is used to register you for the exams, which identifies you as one person looking to take the matric exams.

The ID is an important document that serves as identification for citizens, including students. It is necessary to have an ID in order to register for the matric exams.

In this article, we will look at the possibility of writing your final matric without ID, the final matric count, and how to change your matric certificate ID.

Can you write final Matric exams without ID?

An ID is a document that helps establish a person’s unique identity. It serves as proof of their citizenship, residency, and personal information.

The identification system is designed to make everyday tasks easier.

Having a valid ID is just as important when it comes to final matric exams. In order to accurately identify students and prevent cheating, educational institutions typically require students to present their IDs.

Having an ID is important because it allows us to confirm that the student is eligible to take the exam. It also helps us ensure the correct person receives the right results.

Also, it helps to ensure that the examination process remains reliable and fair, thus safeguarding the credibility and integrity of the educational system.

Reports indicate that if a matric learner cannot present a birth certificate, they can provide alternative forms of identification, such as an affidavit or a sworn statement from their parent, caregiver, or guardian. Frazer states that learners must submit their IDs within six months of taking the exams.

If you have lost your ID or have no ID at all, it can be difficult to sit for your final matric exams. The ID confirms the individual prior to entering the exam hall.

However, candidates who may not have their ID to write the final matric exams can provide any document proving their identity. This could be a sworn affidavit by the guardian or parents. Once there is a document that confirms and certifies your identity, you can be allowed to write the final matric exams.

What do you need to write matric finals?

The preparation part of the matric exams is a very key thing that is highly underrated. Many times learners do not consider the importance of preparing for the matric. In the end, they lose out on a lot of things.

The point of preparing is to get you ready for the matric finals and also give you an idea of what you need for the matric finals. If you are looking to write the matric finals, this information will help you get what you need to prepare to write the exams.

The first thing to consider is your documentation which includes your ID. You need your ID to be allowed to take your matric exams. Also, there is the need to have your study materials and other minor stationary items to help you prepare for your studies. Please remember to bring your ID document and exam admission letter with you.

Please make sure to arrive on time, as latecomers will not be permitted. That is considered an irregularity.

Ensuring you understand the paper is a must for every candidate. Missing out any instructions could cost you a lot on your final matrics.

How much do Matric finals count?

Although the final matric exams play a vital role in the overall assessment, however, it does constitute 100% of the exams. During your study period, test and other projects are considered to be part of your final matric exam score.

All tests and assessments done are counted in percentage. These are calculated and added up after your final matric exams. The final matric exam is calculated to have 75% of the final grading score of your matric examination. If you are looking to know how much the matric final counts for, then have it in mind that it has been pegged at 75% of your final grading.

How can I change my matric certificate ID?

Your matric certificate ID is considered to be the main details of your identity, which could be your name, ID number, and examination number. These details form part of your matric certificate to make it valid and certified.

Should there be any cases where you wish to change your matric certificate ID, remember you can not alter the ID number used in the matric registration unless there is a reason beyond doubt.

In the case where you have changed your name and believe your new name should reflect on your matric certificate, it is important to have a supporting document like an affidavit to back the claims.

In all cases, individuals who wish to change their matric certificate ID can submit a letter of request to the Department of Education indicating the need to change their matric certificate ID. This letter must be accompanied by other supporting documents to actually confirm your claims. If you have reason to amend the ID on your matric certificate, the Department of basic education is the right place to review and finalize that.
